So if you’re not up to date, twitter has a new trending topic #iftheygunnedmedown and black men and women are showing the medias portrayal of blacks. Here a few things I would like to point out
1.) white people, sorry, this hashtag is not for you. Black men are being murdered and this is not a time to make a mockery out of this.

Quick story: in my sociology class I took this spring, we were taking about racial profiling and our professor was Indian and she was talking about her experiences and what not.

This black boy in class raised his hand to say “I always get pulled over, I even got pulled over while I was walking!” The class was laughing and stuff.

Then this white boy raised his hand and said, “well, I got pulled over and they searched me one night”

The professor is like “what did you do?”

He’s like “I was speeding and ran a red light”

😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑😑✋

Bruh stop it. This is what I’m talking about white people trying to equate their stupidity with actual oppression.

Bye Felicia.

The list of unarmed black people (and people of color) who were murdered by police continues to grow. Very few are convicted.
Here is a short list of those who didn’t deserve to die:

Malcolm Ferguson: Killed a few days after protesting the acquittal of the cops who killed Diallo.
Ramarley Graham: Shot and killed They said he had a gun. Dude only had a bag of weed on him.
Niles Meservey: Shot and Killed by a cop while sitting in his car. Unarmed.
Ian Tomlinson: Died when pushed to the ground during a Kettling formation by police. Only God knows what went on when they pushed him down.
Yao Wei Wu: Beaten to death by police when they knocked on the wrong door.

Malice Green: Beaten to death by police in custody. Unarmed
Oscar Grant: Shot in the back while on the ground, handcuffed.
Sean Bell: Shot. 50 rounds were fired into his car.
Eleanor Bumpers: 66 year old black woman shot by police with a 12 Gauge shotgun while being arrested.
Amadou Diallo: Shot 19 times when officers said he had a gun when he only had his wallet

Kimani Gray (16): Shot 7 times (3 in the back). Police said he had a gun. No gun was found.
Eric Garner: Died from a chokehold. Unarmed.
Michael Brown (17): Shot 10 times (9 while lying on the ground).

And there are many more.
When will it stop?

Cops shoot and kill man holding toy gun in Walmart | MSNBC

A young man holding a toy rifle in a Walmart was shot and killed on Tuesday by police in the Dayton suburb of Beavercreek, Ohio, according to Raw Story. John Crawford, 22, was carrying a toy gun he picked up in the store, alarming two other shoppers.

LeeCee Johnson, the mother of Crawford’s children, told the Dayton Daily News she was on the phone with him while he was browsing in the store. “We was just talking,” she told the Ohio newspaper. “He said he was at the video games playing videos and he went over there by the toy section where the toy guns were. And the next thing I know, he said ‘It’s not real,’ and the police start shooting and they said ‘Get on the ground,’ but he was already on the ground because they had shot him. And I could hear him just crying and screaming. I feel like they shot him down like he was not even human.”

CBS reports that two other Walmart customers, April and Ronald Ritchie, saw Crawford walking around the store with what appeared to be a gun and called the police. The police station reports that officers asked Crawford to put down the weapon, and opened fire when he did not comply. He later died of his gun shot wounds at a nearby hospital, where his death was ruled a homicide by the Montgomery County coroner’s office. A request for comment by msnbc to the Beavercreek police department was not immediately returned.

The Ohio Attorney General’s office has said that the gun Crawford was carrying was an MK-177 BB/Pellet rifle, also known as a “variable pump air rifle.” Family members could not be reached for comment by msnbc.

Tasha Thomas, who identified herself as Crawford’s girlfriend, told the Dayton Daily News that she drove Crawford to the Walmart and was also in the store, but was in a different aisle from Crawford when the shooting happened. He was not armed when he entered the store, she said. “He did not have any type of gun on him. It’s not fair.”

A relative told the paper the family had contacted the NAACP and the National Action Network, a civil rights group led by MSNBC’s Rev. Al Sharpton.
